OK Member Teams is now in place. If you recall, my original goal of this site was not to create a venue for my egotistical madness but rather to provide a place where the members work together and have a real say in the running of the site.
Of course i welcome people to visit and simply glean info or share their images but I would really be pleased if everyone got involved to some degree.
For this reason i have set up Member Teams
Description: This adds the ability for members to have their own member teams. You can have other members join, open your own forum on the forum(a subforum that can be password protected) and manage other team members through an easy to use control panel.
Features:
- Members can only create teams if they have a certain number of posts set by forum admin- at present 10 posts
- Each team has a leader(the person who creates the team) and a co-leader
- The leader can choose a team logo or give other team members permission to do that
- Leaders can create ranks that they can assign to their members
- A group overview page allows groups to make a short description about their team
- The leader can set permissions on which team members can do what( Different permissions are based on the different categories of settings, which are Team, Forum, and Permissions )
- Leaders can approve members wanting to join the team through an easy to use activation list... you can simply dismiss members that you don't want on your team
- Members can resign(or voluntarily dismiss themselves) from the team
- Leaders can dismiss other team members
- Administrators have control over all teams through the ACP
- Team leaders can create a password-protected subforum for their team, and assign forum moderators to that forum
Now i wil be monitoring this closely so please lets keep it all decent and relevant. Abuse will not be tolerated. Site rules and guidlines apply across the board
Have fun

Thats rather cool actually. It would allow people to collaberate on projects to make tutorials without the greater mass' seeing it in production, but still allow relevant members to comment and add in.I hope people don't a boys only type club(but application based..."C4D only, we rulez" type stuff). But yeah, that could be really helpful for group based projects.

I have to do a bit more research on it, at present it seems that the new forums will not show until an admin sets the permissions and i need to find out how to setup auto PM messaging to leaders that a new member has applied and then PM the member when he/she has been accepted
The idea is to have this as "hands off" as possible, i.e the members get to do the administration and not have to rely totally on an administrator. But this may well be a security feature in that the admis have to OK all new team member groups

That's not so bad, I see no prob with admin approval for a team.

Thing is i don't think i am getting an e-mail or a pm when a team has been set up, this should be auto'd if not i will have to add a line to the info that says pm me when you set one up, else i have to keep checking the ACP
