Well remember that problem i had with attachments in posts? well i decided to upgrade the forum and gallery and it fixed that but...

IPB is really like all the other forums, out of the box it does not have a lot of needed modules ( such as downloads, links etc)

To get these working in the new IPB (v2.14) i had to dig around for updated modifications, some are available some not and those that are available can be very quirky - e.g the search feature in downloads does not work !!

If anyone was ever thinking about starting something similar i would advise you to do a course in self relaxation techniques. To add some thing simple like a download package involves pulling down loads of php files, manually editing them and adjusting site skins and templates, it really is a pain in the backside

I was thinking of going to a fully modded phpbb2plus board but i was not sure how to transfer all the user info and even then passwords would not come over and i would have to setup all the downloads again

Edit: I got the search function in downloads working and now added a fade page efect to the forum (IE Only)

Next up i want to change some code so that when you reply to a post you are redirected to the forum instead of back to that post
