Just bought a new cheap (£100) camcorder and decided to have a go at motion tracking for the first time and compositing TFD. For a first attempt it is not bad ( ignore the rough and ready fire) but i have loads to learn about matchmoving !!

Looks good for a first test! Matchmoving is my specialty let me know if you have any questions/problems and I will try to answer them when I get time. Fire is looking nice already.

Welcome. I have a few tutorials on matchmoving/vfx over at Cineversity and have another series that should launch soon there. In the meantime I'm working on creating a blog since I don't have time to revamp my website right now. My blog will feature my work, tips and some tutorials too. I'll be sure to post links here when I finish them.

OK here is test 2, just comping the TFD to the camera track and experiment with Matte objects so the shadow goes behind the lampost and the wall/hedge on the left. The left wall matte is a bit off so the shadow on the ground ends to short, no adjustments. I think i can now move on to something more realistic

This 'rough and ready fire' is pretty nice. How did you create it?
Thx.
