Great Computer Or Parts

just wonderin if anyone has some feed back on a good graphic design computer/parts........my computer is a bit old 900 meg processor I believe, old radeon graphics card, some odd ball amount of memory.....I like to use zbrush, c4d, poser, bryce, I know I want to have something with multi hard drives, but just not sure brands or stuff like that...........any help???? thanks

The drift these days is towards dual core systems ( 2 processors in one) like the AMD x2 series or the pentiumD

I would suggest also looking at xeon processors.

An ideal system would be to have 2 dual core processors

I would also suggect going with a 64 bit processor then you can really up the amount of RAM you have availbale to apps, you would of course need a 64 bit 0/s to get the full effect, thouigh a 64 bit cpu can run on a standard 32 bit o/s but for example you cannot run 64 bit C4D without a 64 bit o/s

for a graphics card go with the best you can afford, perhaps a 256 MB card..make sure it is compatable with any progs you want to use such as c4d, max maya etc
