With a chilling hint of the not-so-distant future, researchers at the Usenix Security conference have demonstrated a zero-day vulnerability in your brain. Using a commercial off-the-shelf brain-computer interface, the researchers have shown that it’s possible to hack your brain, forcing you to reveal information that you’d rather keep secret

Business Is Business

The following is excerpted from a report printed by the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary in 1974:

Quote

The activities of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler prior to and during World War II...are instructive. At that time, these three firms dominated motor vehicle production in both the United States and Germany. Due to its mass production capabilities, automobile manufacturing is one of the most crucial industries with respect to national defense. As a result, these firms retained the economic and political power to affect the shape of governmental relations both within and between these nations in a manner which maximized corporate global profits. In short, they were private governments unaccountable to the citizens of any country yet possessing tremendous influence over the course of war and peace in the world. The substantial contribution of these firms to the American war effort in terms of tanks, aircraft components, and other military equipment is widely acknowledged. Less well known are the simultaneous contributions of their foreign subsidiaries to the Axis Powers. In sum, they maximized profits by supplying both sides with the materiel needed to conduct the war.

During the 1920's and 1930's, the Big Three automakers undertook an extensive program of multinational expansion...By the mid-1930's, these three American companies owned automotive subsidiaries throughout Europe and the Far East; many of their largest facilities were located in the politically sensitive nations of Germany, Poland, Rumania, Austria, Hungary, Latvia, and Japan...Due to their concentrated economic power over motor vehicle production in both Allied and Axis territories, the Big Three inevitably became major factors in the preparations and progress of the war. In Germany, for example, General Motors and Ford became an integral part of the Nazi war efforts. GM's plants in Germany built thousands of bomber and jet fighter propulsion systems for the Luftwaffe at the same time that its American plants produced aircraft engines for the U.S. Army Air Corps....

Ford was also active in Nazi Germany's prewar preparations. In 1938, for instance, it opened a truck assembly plant in Berlin whose "real purpose," according to U.S. Army Intelligence, was producing "troop transport-type" vehicles for the Wehrmacht. That year Ford's chief executive received the Nazi German Eagle (first class)....

The outbreak of war in September 1939 resulted inevitably in the full conversion by GM and Ford of their Axis plants to the production of military aircraft and trucks.... On the ground, GM and Ford subsidiaries built nearly 90 percent of the armored "mule" 3-ton half-trucks and more than 70 percent of the Reich's medium and heavy-duty trucks. These vehicles, according to American intelligence reports, served as "the backbone of the German Army transportation system."....

After the cessation of hostilities, GM and Ford demanded reparations from the U.S. Government for wartime damages sustained by their Axis facilities as a result of Allied bombing... Ford received a little less than $1 million, primarily as a result of damages sustained by its military truck complex at Cologne...

Due to their multinational dominance of motor vehicle production, GM and Ford became principal suppliers for the forces of fascism as well as for the forces of democracy. It may, of course, be argued that participating in both sides of an international conflict, like the common corporate practice of investing in both political parties before an election, is an appropriate corporate activity. Had the Nazis won, General Motors and Ford would have appeared impeccably Nazi; as Hitler lost, these companies were able to re-emerge impeccably American. In either case, the viability of these corporations and the interests of their respective stockholders would have been preserved

In 1940 Graeme K. Howard, Vice President of General Motors, published America and a New World Order, in which he advised that America give full cooperation to the Nazi regime. In his book he blames FDR for causing the war in Europe and goes on to say that the fascists should be supported as the better alternative to the spread of Communism

Perhaps one of the most egregious contributors to the Nazi cause was IBM under the direction of Thomas J. Watson

IBM knowing helped to setup Nazi census databases through the use of data sorting machines that enabled the Nazis to carry out the Holocaust in a way that they would not have otherwise been able to. Point blank, IBM increased the size and scope of the Holocaust, and did it for profit. Not only this, but IBM leased the machines, which they had developed especially for the Nazis, to the regime with the intention of taking them back, "once they were finished with them". Thomas Watson was awarded a medal by Adolf Hitler for his role in assisting in the Nazi regime, .and Watson expressed, "the necessity of extending a sympathetic understanding to the German people, and their leader Adolf Hitler." He also expressed "the highest esteem for Hitler, his country, and his people."

Charles Lindbergh was perhaps the most vocal and public supporter of the fascists, especially the Germans. Lindbergh was not so much a financial supporter of the Nazis, as he was a public advocate for allying with Germany to fight against Communism and promote White racial superiority. Lindbergh attended the Olympics as a guest of the Nazis and in 1938 he was given the Service Cross of the German Eagle while attending a dinner party in Berlin. He founded the America First Committee in 1940 to build opposition to FDR and FDR's support for American entry into the war in Europe

Henry Ford was an avowed anti-Semite, and significant contributor to the Nazi movement in Germany.

In 1920 Ford stated: "The international financiers are behind all war. They are what is called the International Jew -- German Jews, French Jews, English Jews, American Jews. I believe that in all these countries except our own the Jewish financier is supreme... Here, the Jew is a threat."

In the 1920s he published The International Jew. Hitler himself ordered many copies of this book and was said to keep a copy on his desk. It is easy to see why when reading the book, because the attack on the Jews is vehement

Quote

WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT?

Simply identify the source and nature of the influence which has overrun our schools and universities. Let the students know that their choice is between the Anglo-Saxons and the Tribe of Judah. Let the students decide, in making up their allegiance, whether they will follow the Builders or those who seek to tear down. It is not a case for argument. The only absolute antidote to the Jewish influence is to call college students back to a pride of race.

We often speak of the Fathers as if they were the few who happened to affix their signatures to a great document which marked a new era of liberty. The Fathers of our nation were the men of the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic race. The men who came from Europe with civilization in their blood and in their destiny. The men who crossed the Atlantic and set up civilization on a bleak and rock-bound coast; the men who drove north to Alaska and west to California; the men who opened up the tropics and subdued the arctics; the men who mastered the African veldt; the men who peopled Australia and seized the gates of the world at Suez, Gibraltar and Panama; men who have given form to every government and a livelihood to every people and an ideal to every century. They got neither their God nor their religion from Judah, nor yet their speech nor their creative genius- they are the Ruling People. Chosen throughout the centuries to Master the world, by building it ever better and better, and not by breaking it down.

Into the camp of this race, among the sons of the rulers, comes a people that has no civilization to point to, no aspiring religion, no universal speech, no great achievement in any realm but the realm of "get," cast out of every land that gave them hospitality, and these people endeavor to tell the Sons of the Saxons what is needed to make the world what it ought to be!

If our sons follow this counsel of dark rebellion and destruction, it is because they do not know whose sons they are, of what race they are the scions. Let there be free speech to the limit in our universities and free intercourse of ideas, but let Jewish thoughts be labeled Jewish, and let our sons know the racial secret...

NAME THE ENEMY!

...

Judah has begun the struggle. Judah has made the invasion. Let it come. Let no man fear it. But let every a man insist that the fight be fair. Let college students and leaders of thought know that the objective is the regnancy of the ideas and the race that have built all the civilization we see and that promises all the civilization of the future; let them also know that the attacking force is Jewish.

That is all that will be necessary. It is against this that the Jews protest. "You must not identify us," they say, "You must not use the term 'Jew'." Why? Because unless the Jewish idea can creep in under the assumption of other than Jewish origin, it is doomed. Anglo-Saxon ideas dare proclaim themselves and their origin. A proper proclamation is all that is necessary today. Compel every invading idea to run up its flag!

At the Nuremberg Trials Baldur Von Shirach claimed that Henry Ford was the primary inspiration for his anti-Semitism.

Shirach, a former Nazi youth leader, stated: "You have no idea what a great influence this book had on the thinking of the German youth…I read Henry Ford's book 'The International Jewry'…and became anti-Semitic."

Ford also made large personal contributions to Hitler's political campaigns. Hitler spoke of Ford in his speeches and had a portrait of Ford in his office.

In 1938 Henry Ford received the Grand Cross of the Order of the German Eagle as a birthday present from Adolf Hitler. He was given the medal in his office in Michigan by two officials from the Third Reich

Important information about the ties between American businessmen and the fascist powers of Europe was communicated to FDR by the American Ambassador to Germany during the 1930s, William E. Dodd. His writings on the matter are of critical importance. He wrote about connections between Hearst and the Nazis as well as Hearst and the Italians, in addition to Nazi connections with other wealthy Americans.

"A clique of U.S. industrialists is hell-bent to bring a fascist state to supplant our democratic government and is working closely with the fascist regime in Germany and Italy. I have had plenty of opportunity in my post in Berlin to witness how close some of our American ruling families are to the Nazi regime. . . . "

"Certain American industrialists had a great deal to do with bringing fascist regimes into being in both Germany and Italy. They extended aid to help Fascism occupy the seat of power, and they are helping to keep it there."

- William E. Dodd, U.S. Ambassador to Germany, 1937

This is a true story, Pressdram are the company that own the satirical magazine "Private Eye"

An unlikely piece of British legal history occurred in what is now referred to as the "case" of Arkell v. Pressdram (1971). The plaintiff was the subject of an article relating to illicit payments, and the magazine had ample evidence to back up the article. Arkell's lawyers wrote a letter which concluded: "His attitude to damages will be governed by the nature of your reply." The magazine's response was, in full: "We acknowledge your letter of 29th April referring to Mr J. Arkell. We note that Mr Arkell's attitude to damages will be governed by the nature of our reply and would therefore be grateful if you would inform us what his attitude to damages would be, were he to learn that the nature of our reply is as follows: f*ck off." In the years following, the magazine would refer to this exchange as a euphemism for a blunt and coarse dismissal: for example, "We refer you to the reply given in the case of Arkell v. Pressdram".

The Great Swine Flu Hoax

THE BIG ‘SWINE-FLU’ HOAX

Over the years, we have endured continuous pandemic scares such as Avian Flu, Tami Flu, Bird Flu, Noro Virus
and now the notorious Swine Flu. None of which have materialized and at best, have only affected a few. For those
cases where deaths had occurred, it is hard to distinguish whether the cause was the actual disease or vaccinations.
Every winter over 25,000 people die from the flu which is virtually ignored by the media. In 2008, scientists
reported that ‘the annual flu-jab was ineffective and a waste of NHS funding’, even though several perfectly healthy
cases became chronically ill after having the jab, yet it is still being pushed onto the elderly. A recent feature which revealed the vast amount of poisonous substances in vaccines and the extensive damage they
actually cause to our health. These vaccines not only damage our brain and cause
chronic illnesses such as cancer, autism, diabetes, meningitis, allergies but also damages both our DNA and immune
system, which is then passed on throughout generations. The problem is much greater than even ‘I’ could have
imagined, but sadly this information is also being deliberately hidden from the general public. Many doctors &
scientists are questioning the poisonous-effects of vaccines;- fear tactics being employed to panic us into quickly
vaccinating ourselves and family (i.e. Swine Flu & MMR); plus the ‘profits versus health’ issue surrounding the
pharmaceutical industry. Even animals are suffering this awful fate. Vaccines contain ‘live germs’ &
chemicals such as diphtheria, formaldehyde, hydrochloric acid, mercury, aluminium, ‘live’ measles & mumps virus
(from chicken embryo cells); ‘live’ rubella virus (grown from fetus); monkey cell tissue, calf serum and lots more. All
these poisonous substances, plus animal DNA are injected directly into the blood stream of test animals - in the name of improving
and protecting our health. Unfortunately, the truth is... we have become ‘experimental guinea-pigs’ for the
pharmaceutical industries, simply to maximize their profits. For decades, the Caribbean and other 3rd
.world countries have been used in the same way as frontline scientific guinea-pigs. Now scientists are pressing for the compulsory vaccinations of all school children in
the UK (and overseas)...effectively taking away parents ‘human rights to choose’ what they believe is best for their
children. To make matters worse, parents are put on a guilt-trip as being ‘irresponsible and abusive’ for not protecting
their children – without realizing that by vaccinating, they are actually playing Russian roulette with their lives.

ON 12TH. JULY 2009:. The NHS is preparing to vaccinate the entire population (20 million this
year and the remainder next year), with their new ‘swine flu vaccine’. This vaccine has not yet been tried, tested or
approved for safety, yet approval is now being fast-tracked. Furthermore, this month the Government gave the
Pharmaceutical industry absolute immunity from prosecution against any damage caused by the vaccine...and
also gave permission for people to self-diagnose for ‘swine-flu’.

Unfortunately, the ugly truth behind most of today’s science is that many Scientists are paid huge amounts by
Pharmaceutical companies to ‘create a drug’, then find a disease to test it on. The media is then used to ‘create public
panic & fear’, so that everyone volunteers themselves to be tested. Therefore, swine flu ‘could be’ a deliberate hoax
to encourage you to vaccinate yourself and children. So before you offer yourself up as a ‘sacrificial lamb’,
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE question ... ‘if they cannot distinguish between this and the ‘common-flu’ (which they
have yet to find an effective vaccine); how can they be so sure that this new vaccine will work, or know its side-
effects? This knowledge will only come about if they use the entire nation to conduct a mass experiment; and if
anyone dies, it will be reported as ‘death by swine-flu’ and not from ‘vaccine poisoning’. This way, they can avoid
‘legal prosecution’ and paying out billions in damages’. The biggest surprise of all is that the World Health
Organization (WHO) is directly involved in the global criminal act. For those who are still worried about
catching Swine Flu, ‘COLLOIDAL SILVER’ is the most effective ‘natural antibiotic’ for any disease... and is (not-
surprisingly) one of the products also targeted to be removed from the open market. All in the name of ‘Consumer
Protection’.

Cray To Upgrade Fastest Us Supercomputer

NEW YORK — Supercomputer builder Cray on Tuesday said it will upgrade the Department of Energy's Jaguar computer so it can run nearly 10 times faster and challenge a Japanese computer to regain its standing as the world's fastest computer.

The Jaguar was the world's fastest computer when Cray built it in 2008 for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. Today, it's the world's third-fastest computer, according to a list compiled by computer researchers.

Under the $97 million contract, Cray will swap out the Jaguar's more than 224,000 processors made by Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and replace them with a combination of updated AMD processors and graphics chips from Nvidia Corp.

Graphics chips, which are designed to crunch numbers for 3-D environments, are finding increasing use in supercomputers.

Cray said the first phase of the upgrade will be completed this year. Additional Nvidia chips will be added next year.

The new computer will be called Titan.

Shares of Seattle-based Cray rose 16 cents, or 2.7 percent, to close Tuesday at $6.14 but then fell 7 cents after hours.

There Are Two Sides To Every Story

I, Like millions of others, have always considered Mahatma Gandhi to be one of the most influential persons in world history and his assassination was a devastating reward for his years of service to India and South Africa. But I think it is well worth reading the final address his assassin, Naturam Godse, made to the court before his sentence of death was passed.

Gandhiji Assassin: Nathuram Godse's Final Address to the Court.
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: left"> Nathuram Godse was arrested immediately after he assassinated Gandhiji, based on a F. I.. R. filed by Nandlal Mehta at the Tughlak Road Police station at Delhi . The trial, which was held in
camera, began on 27th May 1948 and concluded on 10th February 1949. He was sentenced to death. An appeal to the Punjab High Court, then in session at Simla, did not find favourable and the sentence was upheld. The statement that you are about to read is the last made by Godse before the Court on the 5th of May 1949.
WHY I KILLED GANDHI?

Born in a devotional Brahmin family, I instinctively came to revere Hindu religion, Hindu history, and Hindu culture. I had, therefore, been intensely proud of Hinduism as a whole. As I grew up I developed a tendency to free thinking unfettered by any superstitious allegiance to any isms, political or religious. That is why I worked actively for the eradication of untouchables and the caste system based on birth alone. I openly joined RSS wing of anti-caste movements and maintained that all Hindus were of equal status as to rights, social, and religious and should be considered high or low on merit alone and not through the accident of birth in a particular caste or profession.

I used publicly to take part in organized anti-caste dinners in which thousands of Hindus, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaisyas, Chamars and Bhangis participated. We broke the caste rules and dined in the company of each other. I have read the speeches and writings of Ravana, Chanakiya, Dadabhai Naoroji, Vivekanand, Gokhale, Tilak, along with the books of ancient and modern history of India and some prominent countries like England , France , America , and Russia .Moreover I studied the tenets of Socialism and Marxism. But above all I studied very closely whatever Veer Savarkar and Gandhiji had written and spoken, as to my mind these two ideologies have contributed more to the molding of the thought and action of the Indian people during the last thirty years or so, than any other single factor has done.

All this reading and thinking led me to believe it was my first duty to serve Hinduism and Hindus both as a patriot and as a world citizen. To secure the freedom and to safeguard the just interests of some thirty crores (300 million) of Hindus would automatically constitute the freedom and the well-being of all India , one fifth of human race. This conviction led me naturally to devote myself to the Hindu Sanghtanist ideology and program, which alone, I came to believe, could win and preserve the national independence of Hindustan , my Motherland, and enable her to render true service to humanity as well.

Since the year 1920, that is, after the demise of Lokamanya Tilak, Gandhiji's influence in the Congress first increased and then became supreme. His activities for public awakening were phenomenal in their intensity and were reinforced by the slogan of truth and non-violence which he paraded ostentatiously before the country. No sensible or enlightened person could object to those slogans. In fact there is nothing new or original in them. They are implicit in every constitutional public movement. But it is nothing but a mere dream if you imagine that the bulk of mankind is, or can ever become, capable of scrupulous adherence to these lofty principles in its normal life from day to day.

In fact, honour, duty, and love of one's own kith and kin and country might often compel us to disregard non-violence and to use force. I could never conceive that an armed resistance to an aggression is unjust. I would consider it a religious and moral duty to resist and, if possible, to overpower such an enemy by use of force. [In the Ramayana] Rama killed Ravana in a tumultuous fight and relieved Sita.. [In the Mahabharata], Krishna killed Kansa to end his wickedness; and Arjuna had to fight and slay quite a number of his friends and relations including the revered Bhishma because the latter was on the side of the aggressor. It is my firm belief that in dubbing Rama, Krishna , and Arjuna as guilty of violence, the Mahatma betrayed a total ignorance of the springs of human action.

In more recent history, it was the heroic fight put up by Chhatrapati Shivaji that first checked and eventually destroyed the Muslim tyranny in India . It was absolutely essentially for Shivaji to overpower and kill an aggressive Afzal Khan, failing which he would have lost his own life. In condemning history's towering warriors like Shivaji, Rana Pratap and Guru Gobind Singh as misguided patriots, Gandhiji has merely exposed his self-conceit. He was, paradoxical as it may appear a violent pacifist who brought untold calamities on the country in the name of truth and non-violence, while Rana Pratap, Shivaji, and the Guru will remain enshrined in the hearts of their countrymen for ever for the freedom they brought to them.

The accumulating provocation of thirty-two years, culminating in his last pro-Muslim fast, at last goaded me to the conclusion that the existence of Gandhi should be brought to an end immediately. Gandhi had done very well in South Africa to uphold the rights and well-being of the Indian community there. But when he finally returned to India he developed a subjective mentality under which he alone was to be the final judge of what was right or wrong. If the country wanted his leadership, it had to accept his infallibility; if it did not, he would stand aloof from the Congress and carry on his own way.

Against such an attitude there can be no halfway house. Either Congress had to surrender its will to his and had to be content with playing second fiddle to all his eccentricity, whimsicality, metaphysics and primitive vision, or it had to carry on without him.

He alone was the Judge of everyone and every thing; he was the master brain guiding the civil disobedience movement; no other could know the technique of that movement. He alone knew when to begin and when to withdraw it. The movement might succeed or fail, it might bring untold disaster, and political reverses but that could make no difference to the Mahatma's infallibility. 'A Satyagrahi can never fail' was his formula for declaring his own infallibility and nobody except himself knew what a Satyagrahi is. Thus, the Mahatma became the judge and jury in his own cause. These childish insanities and obstinacies, coupled with a most severe austerity of life, ceaseless work and lofty character made Gandhi formidable and irresistible.

Many people thought that his politics were irrational but they had either to withdraw from the Congress or place their intelligence at his feet to do with as he liked. In a position of such absolute irresponsibility Gandhi was guilty of blunder after blunder, failure after failure, disaster after disaster. Gandhi's pro-Muslim policy is blatantly in his perverse attitude on the question of the national language of India . It is quite obvious that Hindi has the most prior claim to be accepted as the premier language. In the beginning of his career in India , Gandhi gave a great impetus to Hindi but as he found that the Muslims did not like it, he became a champion of what is called Hindustani.. Everybody in India knows that there is no language called Hindustani; it has no grammar; it has no vocabulary. It is a mere dialect, it is spoken, but not written. It is a bastard tongue and cross-breed between Hindi and Urdu, and not even the Mahatma's sophistry could make it popular. But in his desire to please the Muslims he insisted that Hindustani alone should be the national language of India . His blind followers, of course, supported him and the so-called hybrid language began to be used. The charm and purity of the Hindi language was to be prostituted to please the Muslims. All his experiments were at the expense of the Hindus.

From August 1946 onwards the private armies of the Muslim League began a massacre of the Hindus. The then Viceroy, Lord Wavell, though distressed at what was happening, would not use his powers under the Government of India Act of 1935 to prevent the rape, murder and arson. The Hindu blood began to flow from Bengal to Karachi with some retaliation by the Hindus. The Interim Government formed in September was sabotaged by its Muslim League member’s right from its inception, but the more they became disloyal and treasonable to the government of which they were a part, the greater was Gandhi's infatuation for them. Lord Wavell had to resign as he could not bring about a settlement and he was succeeded by Lord Mountbatten. King Log was followed by King Stork. The Congress which had boasted of its nationalism and socialism secretly accepted Pakistan literally at the point of the bayonet and abjectly surrendered to Jinnah. India was vivisected and one-third of the Indian territory became foreign land to us from August 15, 1947.

Lord Mount batten came to be described in Congress circles as the greatest Viceroy and overnor-General this country ever had. The official date for handing over power was fixed for June 30, 1948, but Mount batten with his ruthless surgery gave us a gift of vivisected India ten months in advance. This is what Gandhi had achieved after thirty years of undisputed dictatorship and this is what Congress party calls 'freedom' and 'peaceful transfer of power'. The Hindu-Muslim unity bubble was finally burst and a the ocratic state was established with the consent of Nehru and his crowd and they have called 'freedom won by them with sacrifice' - whose sacrifice? When top leaders of Congress, with the consent of Gandhi, divided and tore the country - which we consider a deity of worship - my mind was filled with direful anger.

One of the conditions imposed by Gandhi for his breaking of the fast unto death related to the mosques in Delhi occupied by the Hindu refugees. But when Hindus in Pakistan were subjected to violent attacks he did not so much as utter a single word to protest and censure the Pakistan Government or the Muslims concerned. Gandhi was shrewd enough to know that while undertaking a fast unto death, had he imposed for its break some condition on the Muslims in Pakistan , there would have been found hardly any Muslims who could have shown some grief if the fast had ended in his death. It was for this reason that he purposely avoided imposing any condition on the Muslims. He was fully aware of from the experience that Jinnah was not at all perturbed or influenced by his fast and the Muslim League hardly attached any value to the inner voice of Gandhi. Gandhi is being referred to as the Father of the Nation.

But if that is so, he had failed his paternal duty in as much as he has acted very treacherously to the nation by his consenting to the partitioning of it. I stoutly maintain that Gandhi has failed in his duty.

He has proved to be the Father of Pakistan. His inner-voice, his spiritual power and his doctrine of non-violence of which so much is made of, all crumbled before Jinnah's iron will, and proved to be powerless. Briefly speaking, I thought to myself and foresaw I shall be totally ruined, and the only thing I could expect from the people would be nothing but hatred and that I shall have lost my entire honor, even more valuable than my life, if I were to kill Gandhiji. But at the same time I felt that the Indian politics in the absence of Gandhiji would surely be proved practical, able to retaliate, and would be powerful with armed forces. No doubt, my own future would be totally ruined, but the nation would be saved from the inroads of Pakistan. People may even call me and dub me as devoid of any sense or foolish, but the nation would be free to follow the course founded on the reason which I consider to be necessary for sound nation-building.

After having fully considered the question, I took the final decision in the matter, but I did not speak about it to anyone whatsoever. I took courage in both my hands and I did fire the shots at Gandhiji on 30th January 1948, on the prayer-grounds of Birla House. I do say that
my shots were fired at the person whose policy and action had brought rack and ruin and destruction to millions of Hindus. There was no legal machinery by which such an offender could be brought to book and for this reason I fired those fatal shots. I bear no ill will towards anyone individually but I do say that I had no respect for the present government owing to their policy which was unfairly favorable towards the Muslims. But at the same time I could clearly see that the policy was entirely due to the presence of Gandhi.

I have to say with great regret that Primes Minister Nehru quite forgets that his preaching's and deeds are at times at variances with each other when he talks about India as a secular state in season and out of season, because it is significant to note that Nehru has played
a leading role in the establishment of the theocratic state of Pakistan, and his job was made easier by Gandhi's persistent policy of appeasement towards the Muslims. I now stand before the court to accept the full share of my responsibility for what I have done and the judge would, of course, pass against me such orders of sentence as may be considered proper. But I would like to add that I do not desire any mercy to be shown to me, nor do I wish that anyone else should beg for mercy on my behalf. My confidence about the moral side of my action has not been shaken even by the criticism leveled against it on all sides. I have no doubt that honest writers of history will weighs my act and find the true value thereof some day in future.

A Masters Story

1. There was a Master come
unto the earth, born in
the holy land of Indiana,
raised in the mystical
hills east of Fort Wayne.
2. The Master learned of this
world in the public schools of
Indiana, and as he grew, in
his trade as a mechanic
of automobiles.
3. But the Master had learnings
from other lands and other
schools, from other lives that
he had lived. He remembered
these, and remembering became
wise and strong, so that others
saw his strength and came
to him for counsel.
4. The Master believed that he
had power to help himself
and all mankind, and as he
believed so it was for him,
so that others saw his
power and came to him to
be healed of their troubles
and their many diseases.
5. The Master believed that it
is well for any man to
think upon himself as a son
of God, and as he believed,
so it was, and the
shops and garages where he
worked became crowded and
jammed with those who sought
his learning and his touch,
and the streets outside
with those who longed only
that the shadow of his
passing might fall upon them,
and change their lives.
6. It came to pass, because
of the crowds, that the
several foremen and shop
managers bid the Master
leave his tools and go
his way, for so tightly
was he thronged that neither
he nor other mechanics had
room to work upon the
automobiles.
7. So it was that he went
into the countryside, and
people following began to call
him Messiah, and worker of
miracles; and as they believed,
it was so.
8. If a storm passed as
he spoke, not a raindrop
touched a listener's head;
the last of the multitude
heard his words as clearly
as the first, no matter
lightning nor thunder in
the sky about. And always
he spoke to them in parables
9. And he said unto them,
"within each of us lies the
power of our consent to health
and to sickness, to riches
and to poverty, to freedom
and to slavery. It is we
who control these, and
not another."
10. A mill-man spoke and said,
"Easy words for you, Master,
for you are guided as we
are not, and need not toil
as we toil. A man has to
work for his living in
this world."
11. The Master answered and said,
"Once there lived a village
of creatures along the bottom
of a great crystal river.
12. "The current of the river
swept silently over them
all - young and old, rich
and poor, good and evil,
the current going its own
way, knowing only its own
crystal self.
13. "Each creature in its own
manner clung tighty to the
twigs and rocks of the river
bottom, for clinging was their
way of life, and resisting
the current what each had
learned from birth.
14. "But one creature said at
last, 'I am tired of clinging.
Though I cannot see it
with my eyes, I trust that
the current knows where it is
going. I shall let go, and
let it take me where it
will. Clinging, I shall die
of boredom.'
15. "The other creatures laughed and
said, 'Fool! Let go, and that
current you worship will throw
you tumbled and smashed
across the rocks, and you
will die quicker than boredom!'
16. "But the one heeded them
not, and taking a breath
did let go, and at once
was tumbled and smashed by
the current across the rocks.
17. "Yet in time, as the creature
refused to cling again, the
current lifted him free from
the bottom, and he was bruised
and hurt no more.
18. "And the creatures downstream, to
whom he was a stranger,
cried, 'See a miracle! A creature
like ourselves, yet he flies!
See the Messiah, come to save
us all!'
19. "And the one carried in
the current said, 'I am
no more Messiah than you.
The river delights to lift
us free, if only we dare
let go. Our true work is
this voyage, this adventure.'
20. "But they cried the more,
'Saviour!' all the while clinging
to the rocks, and when they
looked again he was gone, and
they were left alone making
legends of a Saviour."
21. And it came to pass when
he saw that the multitude
thronged him the more day on
day, tighter and closer and
fiercer than ever they had,
when he saw that they pressed
him to heal them without rest,
and feed them always with
his miracles, to learn for them
and to live their lives, he
went alone that day unto a
hilltop apart, and there he prayed
22. And he said in his heart,
Infinite Radian Is, if it
be thy will, let this cup
pass from me, let me lay
aside this impossible task.
I cannot live the life
of one other soul, yet ten
thousand cry to me for life.
I'm sorry I allowed it all
to happen. If it be thy
will, let me go back to my
engines and my tools and
let me live as other men.
23. And a voice spoke to him on
the hilltop, a voice neither
male nor female, loud nor
soft, a voice infinitely kind.
And the voice said unto him,
"Not my will, but thine be
done. For what is thy will
is mine for thee. Go thy
way as other men, and
be thou happy on the earth."
24. And hearing, the Master was
glad, and gave thanks, and came
down from the hilltop humming
a little mechanic's song.
And when the throng pressed
him with its woes, beseeching
him to heal for it and learn
for it and feed it nonstop
from his understanding and to
entertain it with his wonders,
he smiled upon the multitude
and said pleasantly unto them,
"I quit."
25. For a moment the multitude
was stricken dumb with
astonishment.
26. And he said unto them,
"If a man told God that he
wanted most of all to help the
suffering world, no matter the
price to himself, and God
answered and told him what he
must do, should the man do
as he is told?"
27. "Of course, Master!" cried the
many. "It should be pleasure
for him to suffer the
tortures of hell itself, should
God ask for it!"
28. "No matter what those tortures,
nor how difficult the task?"
29. "Honor to be hanged, glory
to be nailed to a tree
and burned, if so be that
God has asked," said they.
30. "And what would you do,"
the Master said unto the
multitude, "if God spoke directly
to your face and said,
'I COMMAND THAT YOU BE
HAPPY IN THE WORLD,
LONG AS YOU LIVE.' What
would you do then?"
31. And the multitude was silent
not a voice, not a sound
was heard upon the hill
across the valleys where
they stood.
32. And the Master said unto
the silence, "In the path
of our happiness shall we
find the learning for which
we have chosen this life
So it is that I have
learned this day, and
choose to leave you now
to walk your own path,
as you please."
33. And he went his way
through the crowds and
left them, and he
returned to the everyday
world of men and machines.

One Religion/code Of Conduct Worth Checking Out

During a fierce battle being fought between the Mughal army and the Sikhs at Sri Anandpur Sahib, a Seva Panthy Sikh (Service personnel) Bhai Kanahaiya Ji, who was supposed to provide water and first aid to the wounded Sikh soldiers, was providing water and first aid to the soldiers of the enemy also. Guru Sahib Summoned Bhai Kanahaiya, when some Sikh warriors brought this fact to His notice. Bhai Kanahaiya Ji told Guru Sahib, while explaining his state of mind that "I see the reflection of you my master in each and every wounded soldiers, hence no one remains enemy or stranger to me. What should I do my lord when you your self have taught me this lesson that all human beings are equal." On hearing these profound words from his devout Sikh, Guru Sahib embraced Bhai Kanahaiya Ji and said, "you are the blessed one my son, who have deeply understood the true meaning of my Sikhism." It is very rare to find such historical incidents of humanity world over.

Two out of the ten Sikh gurus had to fight various defensive battles, which were always forced on them by the tyrant invaders and ruthless rulers of their times, but both the Gurus never attacked any one first through out their lives and even after winning any battle, they never captured even a single inch of land of the neighboring aggressors. The Gurus had given strict instructions to their saint soldiers that they will not kill any soldier of the enemy, who is running away from the battlefield and they will never indulge in looting or raping women after being victorious. One will rarely find such an example of high principals of battle and self-defense in the history of the world.

No war in Sikh religious history was ever fought over a woman, land, and treasure or to establish supremacy, like most of the other wars in the history of the world. This unique feature can also be found only in the Sikh history, which makes them distinct from rest of the world.

Even during various defensive battles with the aggressors, when ever any general of the enemy challenged the Gurus for a combat, (one to one battle) the Gurus accepted the same but always gave the challenging general the first opportunity to attack them as per the true Sikh tradition and principal of battle, which does not permit one to attack even the enemy first. There are historical evidences that one challenging mughal general was so moved by Guru Sahib's gesture that he deserted the mughal army and fought against the mughal after joining Guru Sahib's army. In a similar kind of incident, when during a fierce battle, another general challenged the Guru for a combat and the Guru gave him similar option to attack him first, he just surrendered in front of the Guru. These kinds of unusual examples of battle principals are very rare and are not to be found else where, in the history of the world.

Baba Banda Singh Bahadar, a great saint warrior and conqueror was being tortured in the most inhuman way by the Mughals but he showed no trace of remorse on his face. Then finally the Mughals asked him about the secret of his unusual calm behavior. They wondered, how come after so much barbaric torture and the certainty of a horrifying death in the near future, he could still have a subtle smile of contentment on his face? Baba Banda Singh Bahadar replied to them "Unfortunately while carrying out the commandments of my Guru, some innocents also became the victims along with all the others, who deserved the punishment for their misdeeds and besides that I had temporarily gone stray due to my victories all over instead of sticking to the commandments of my Guru. I have realized my mistakes and sins hence I know what kind of severe punishment I deserve. You all may try to do your best by punishing and disgracing me to the maximum, but I know it will be still less then the punishment I deserve for my deeds." This is another unusual historical chapter of the realization of a true Sikh, perhaps which will not be found elsewhere in the history of the world.

A great Sikh General Hari Singh Nalua, was famous for his bravery and battle strategies. He was the only one in history who could rule over Kabul (Afghanistan) after defeating the Pathans. One Afghan princes got so enamored by his bravery that she some how succeeded in organizing a secret meeting with the General Hari Singh Nalua. On meeting him face to face she expressed her desire to marry him but the Sikh General refused the proposal by telling her that he is already married and as per his Guru's commandments a Sikh cannot marry two women at the same time. After the refusal of her proposal the princes took a promise from the Sikh General that if he cannot marry her then he must not say no to her second proposal. When the general gave her his promise not to disappoint her the second time, then she asked him that she wants to have a brave son like him. The Sikh General thought for a moment and then fulfilled his promise and said "if you want a son like me then from now onwards I am your son" and he touched her feet pronouncing her his mother. This is an unparallel historical example of the character of a Sikh General not too easily found elsewhere in the history of the world.

Cave men could have flown. Air flowing over an aerofoil shaped wing will cause lift, this is true now and will be true for eternity and has been true since the beginning of time.

Early man could have built wings and flown, we did not invent the principle of lift in the 1800's, we only discovered what was already true.

Perhaps soon we will realise that we don't need wings to fly, perhaps someone realised this thousands of years ago.

Aunty Alice

Guys and girls i have to share this one with you.

I am not a violent man, but coming from the east end of london..i..well..have been about a bit !! Last night i went to see an old friend you runs a drinking house in north London and he IS "old school" east end. He is near 65 but as hard as nails and hails from millwall bermondsey. one of the loveliest guys you would ever want to meet, one of the worst you would ever want to cross.

Anyway, many years ago there was a death in one of the "firms", and being well "connected" he had to go to the funeral. So he, his brother and a few others bought the standard over the top wreath, duly dressed in their dark suits hats etc and made there way to the church

On arrival they were a bit taken aback by the lack of police, considering the level of the guy that was being buried and the consequent abundance of heavy duty "characters" attending there should have been at least a helicopter, several armed police and many police spotters recording the toings and goings. But no, nada, no one. So they made there way to the church and entered, as soon as they got through the doors they closed behind them and the priest began his thing

Dearly beloved we are gathered here..etc etc.. My friends, all built like brick shithouses, dressed appropriately for an London gangster funeral, looked at each other with eyebrows raised

Dearly beloveds etc etc, we are here to pay our last respects to sweet Alice Frazser who sadly passed away..etc etc etc

Well buy this time the whole church has turned around to look at the gangsters at the back and we can only assume that the question that spread was along the lines of " wooah...what was sweet aunty Alice keeping from us !!"

True to form, as good London boys our lads played it out with due respect, even going so far as to lay this massive overthetop wreath on the grave

As soon as possible, they politely made there way from the main burial scene as soon as the got a fair distance the cry went up "LEG IT"

As you can guess that night they got harassed for not being at "the" funeral which was in a different church, some several miles away

To this day I am sure Aunty Alice's' descendant talk in hushed tones abut her and the London "gangsters"

Lovers. Climbers Or Just Feeling Sad ?

This song is ..well,, this song

Rows and floes of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons ev'rywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on ev'ryone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
As ev'ry fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way

But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all

Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way

But now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living ev'ry day

I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all
I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow

Checking up on the history of England i was fascinated to see the wide range of nationalities that are included in the line of secession to the throne of england. I post a link below but of course it must be noted that there are many "unofficial" lines based on the disagreement with the Act of Settlement 1701, the Royal Marriages Act 1772. Most notable of the alternative claims are those from the line of the Stuarts. It is worth reading up on the "Glorious Revolution" when the then catholic King James II fled to France and was declared as abdicated due to his absence ( research Jacobite)

It is interesting to note in these times of so called religious tolerance and laws against discrimination by race or religion, that it is not possible for a catholic ( or for that matter a non protestant) to succeed to the throne of england / Britain

Quote

At the time of accession, the heir to the throne must be a Protestant and enter into communion with the Church of England.
Anyone who is Roman Catholic, becomes Roman Catholic, or marries a Roman Catholic is permanently excluded from the line of succession

Still the list is fascinating..well to me anyway !!

Just a note on the new feature in TFD. I hope you all realise that you need to cache velocity on the main sim if you want to use the upres feature later but what may not be obvious is that once you have cached that velocity you don't need to do it again when you upres. So if after the first sim you turn off cache velocity and then hit upres you will notice that the upres sim is faster and the cache files take up far less space

Strangled At Birth

In the early 1980's as an epidemic of dengue fever swept the Cuban island. Transmitted by blood-eating insects, usually
mosquitos, the disease produces severe flu symptoms and incapacitating bone pain.
Between May and October 1981, over 300,000 cases were reported in Cuba with 158 fatalities, 101 of which were children under 15.

In 1956 and 1958, declassified documents have revealed, the US Army loosed swarms of specially bred mosquitos in
Georgia and Florida to see whether disease-carrying insects could be weapons in a biological war. The mosquitos bred for the tests were of the Aedes Aegypti type, the precise carrier of dengue fever as well as other diseases.

In 1967 it was reported by Science magazine that at the US government center in Fort Detrick, Maryland, dengue
fever was amongst those "diseases that are at least the objects of considerable research and that appear to be among those regarded as potential BW [biological warfare] agents."

Then, in 1984, a Cuban exile on trial in New York testified that in the latter part of 1980 a ship travelled from Florida to Cuba with
a mission to carry some germs to introduce them in Cuba to be used against the Soviets and against the Cuban economy, to begin what was called chemical war, which later on produced results that were not what we had expected, because we thought that it was going to be used against the Soviet forces, and it was used against our own people, and with that we did not agree.

It's not clear from the testimony whether the Cuban man thought that the germs would somehow be able to confine their actions to only Russians, or whether he had been misled by the people behind the operation. The full extent of American chemical and biological warfare against Cuba will
never be known.

Quote

It looks good for the Military-Industrial-Intelligence Complex and their global partners in crime, the World Bank and the IMF.
They've got their NAFTA, and soon their World Trade Organization. They're dictating economic, political and social development all over the Third World and Eastern Europe. Moscow's reaction to events anywhere is no longer a restraining consideration.

The UN's Code of Conduct on Transnational Corporations, 15 years in the making, is dead. Everything in sight is being deregulated and privatized. Capital prowls the globe with a ravenous freedom it hasn't enjoyed since before World War I, operating free of friction, free of gravity. The world has been made safe for the transnational corporation.

Will this mean any better life for the multitudes than the Cold War brought? Any more regard for the common folk than there's been since they fell off the cosmic agenda centuries ago? "By all means," says Capital, offering another warmed-up version of the "trickle down" theory, the principle that the poor, who must subsist on table scraps dropped by the rich, can best be served by giving the rich bigger meals.

The boys of Capital, they also chortle in their martinis about the death of socialism. The word has been banned from polite conversation. And they hope that no one will notice that every socialist experiment of any significance in the twentieth century—without exception—has either been crushed, overthrown, or invaded, or
corrupted, perverted, subverted, or destabilized, or otherwise had life made impossible for it, by the United States. Not one socialist government or movement—from the Russian Revolution to the Sandinistas in Nicaragua, from Communist China to the FMLN in Salvador—not one was permitted to rise or fall solely on its own merits; not one was left secure enough to drop its guard against the all-powerful enemy abroad and freely and fully relax control at home.

It's as if the Wright brothers' first experiments with flying machines all failed because the automobile interests sabotaged each test flight. And then the good and god-
fearing folk of the world looked upon this, took notice of the consequences, nodded their collective heads wisely, and intoned solemnly: Man shall never fly.

One Pill Makes You Larger...

and one pill makes you small
and the ones that mother gives you
don't do anything at all

I suspect that may of you are unaware about the imminent wide scale ban on herbal remedies in the EU which is basically a move sponsored by the big pharmaceutical companies to destroy the alternative herbal remedies market and drive people towards their profit rich and highly toxic "safe cures". We are being blinded with fears of eastern terrorism and the like while bit by bit the "powers that be" are destroying our civil liberties and removing our will to question their motives lest we in turn are labelled terrorists.

Within the next 50 years we will either all become docile sheep or civil unrest will ignite across the west, in the case of the latter i think the "powers that be" have planned for this and are putting laws in place to strangle any opposition at birth.

"First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me."

Consumers across Europe will be denied the right to use the majority of herbal remedies currently available in health food stores and on the Internet when a new European law is fully implemented on 1st May 2011, according to data published today by the Alliance for Natural Health International (ANH-Intl).

ANH-Intl has collated and released a list of the 79 herbal products registered for use in the UK by its medicines regulator, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The list, which is based on data taken from the MHRA's website, shows that only 34 plant species are included out of a total of more than 1000 that are commonly used as medicinal herbs. The ban applies to any herbal product that is not registered by 1st May, and is a result of the full implementation of the EU Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products Directive (THMPD).

Non-European herbal products will be hardest hit: so far, not a single herbal remedy used in the two biggest traditions, Ayurveda (from India) and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), has been approved.

Nutritional supplements that include any non-approved medicinal herbs will also be banned.

Robert Verkerk PhD, Executive and Scientific Director of ANH-Intl, said, "We believe consumers have the right to see which products have so far been registered, what they have in them, what their intended uses are and who has registered them. We have therefore collated the data into a single list while also releasing other lists that show the extensive range of Indian, Chinese, Tibetan and even western herbs that will be subject to the ban."

The new legislation claims to put consumer safety first making it mandatory to indicate possible side effects and interactions with other drugs on the labelling of approved herbal products. But health-conscious consumers are likely to be surprised to find a wide complement (over 100) of additive 'nasties' in most (but not all) of the registered products. These include the detergent sodium lauryl sulphate, the controversial sweeteners aspartame and sodium cyclamate, artificial preservatives, such as E215, E217 and E219, and various polymers, such as butylated methacrylate copolymer, polyvinylpyrrolidone and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The latter is recognised by government authorities to cause cancer in laboratory animals.

Other key findings are:

•Twenty-seven of the 79 registrations are for just two herbs, Valerian (15) and Echinacea (12).
•Around one-third of UK registrations are from pharmaceutical companies whose core interests lie with conventional drugs rather than herbal products.
•The 79 registered herbal products are licensed to just 26 companies, mainly of UK, German or Swiss origin.
•Not one of the licensees is a supplier of Chinese or Indian (Ayurvedic) herbal products, these being the two most well-established herbal traditions in the world.
•Eighty percent of registrations are for products containing single herbs, rather than herbal combinations, which are common to the non-European herbal traditions.
•Only eight of the registrations (10%) are for products containing whole plant material; the majority of the remainder are alcoholic extracts stabilised in a chemical base, including various combinations of over 100 excipients.
•Smaller traditional herbal providers are notable by their absence.
Herbs that are popular with consumers that are among the thousands to be banned in May, unless registrations are granted within the coming 75 days, include:

Western herb examples

•Herbal combinations for premenstrual tension using Red Clover and Chasteberry.
•Hawthorn for cardiovascular health.
•Meadowsweet for arthritic inflammation.
Ayurvedic herb examples

•Bibitaki one of the three key ingredients in Triphala, among Ayurveda's most widely used herbal products (for digestive health).
•Ashwagandha (sometimes referred to as Indian Ginseng) that is an 'adaptogen' used to balance the body.
•Arjuna for heart and circulatory health.
Chinese herb examples

•Baikal skullcap used as an anti-inflammatory.
•Chinese foxglove (Rehmannia) as an immunosuppressant for those with autoimmune diseases.
•Chinese goldthread (Coptis) used for detoxification.
Amazonian herb examples

•Cat's claw as an anti-inflammatory.
•Pau d'Arco to help strengthen the immune system.
•Graviola used as an anti-inflammatory, especially with cancer patients.
One possible explanation given by ANH-Intl for the lack of licences granted to smaller traditional herbal companies on the THMP list is the "obstacle course" that they face in what is a very expensive, complicated and time-consuming registration process not suited to complex herbal combinations. Estimates for the registration range from £80,000 to well over £150,000 per product. Many in the natural products industry believe the costs are prohibitive and effectively result in selective discrimination.

Verkerk says: "We are planning to initiate judicial review proceedings of the EU Directive, starting in the High Court in London. We hope then to get a reference to the European Court of Justice. We are challenging on the grounds that the law is disproportionate, non-transparent and discriminatory, especially to the non-European traditions. We have already raised about £60,000 of our £90,000 target to fund legal fees for this initial phase.

"A major flaw in the legalisation is that, unlike pharmaceuticals, herbal products are made from biological sources, and as such do not react in the same way that conventional pharmaceuticals do in a laboratory environment. Trying to push these ancient traditions into a European straitjacket based around synthetic drug manufacture is like to trying to push a square peg into a round hole."

Conspiracy

I always find it amusing when people look down from their high horses and berate many conspiracy theories armed only with 3rd hand information which is often as suspect as that of the conspiracy theorists.

A lot of this boils down to what i think is our desire to be part of a mystery who's full details are known only by a select few. We all love a mystery and I for one will admit that there is a certain smugness feeling when I am watching say a film with friends and i have worked out the plot before the others. I know something that they don;t know and i am itching to let them know that i know !!

I think this is at the core of the love of the arcane and our interest in secret societies. And i think it is part of the allure of conspiracy theories. However there is an equal concept to be found in the anti conspiracy camps. The people here often show a similar pattern of behaviour, not so much that they are privy to some hidden secret but more that are privy to a truth which puts them in a position of intellectual superiority over the supposed beguiled conspiracy theorists.

The fact of the matter is that conspiracies occur, have occurred and will occur, Our history is bathed in conspiracies, it is almost human nature. By definition these things are often very arcane and the fact that a conspiracy is in place does not always validate the theories behind it, and equally invalid theories which many even be seen as crackpot do not necessarily change the fact that a conspiracy has occurred.

In light of the latest conspiracy theories over 911 i must address one of the major anti conspiracy arguments that states that the US government would never sanction the murder of several thousand of it's own people. NOW I AN NOT SAYING THEY DID but I want you to consider Operation Northwoods which is easily researchable on the net, This is not a theory, this IS FACT ! will give a brief run down here quoted directly from WIKI but you should research more yourselves for those who know nothing of this dark and sinister conspiracy

Operation Northwoods, or Northwoods, was a false-flag operation plan that originated within the United States government in 1962. The plan called for Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or other operatives to commit genuine acts of terrorism in U.S. cities and elsewhere. These acts of terrorism were to be blamed on Cuba in order to create public support for a war against that nation, which had recently become communist under Fidel Castro. One part of the Operation Northwoods plan was to "develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington."

Operation Northwoods included proposals for hijackings and bombings followed by the introduction of phony evidence that would implicate the Cuban government. The plan stated:

"The desired resultant from the execution of this plan would be to place the United States in the apparent position of suffering defensible grievances from a rash and irresponsible government of Cuba and to develop an international image of a Cuban threat to peace in the Western Hemisphere."
Several other proposals were included within the Operation Northwoods plan, including real or simulated actions against various U.S. military and civilian targets. The plan was drafted by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, signed by Chairman Lyman Lemnitzer and sent to the Secretary of Defence. Although part of the U.S. government's Cuban Project anti-communist initiative, Operation Northwoods was never officially accepted and the proposals included in the plan were never executed.
The previously secret document was originally made public on November 18, 1997, by the John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Review Board,[2] a U.S. federal agency overseeing the release of government records related to John F. Kennedy's assassination
1.Since it would seem desirable to use legitimate provocation as the basis for US military intervention in Cuba a cover and deception plan, to include requisite preliminary actions such as has been developed in response to Task 33 c, could be executed as an initial effort to provoke Cuban reactions. Harassment plus deceptive actions to convince the Cubans of imminent invasion would be emphasized. Our military posture throughout execution of the plan will allow a rapid change from exercise to intervention if Cuban response justifies.

2.A series of well coordinated incidents will be planned to take place in and around Guantanamo to give genuine appearance of being done by hostile Cuban forces.

a. Incidents to establish a credible attack (not in chronological order):
1.Start rumours (many). Use clandestine radio.
2.Land friendly Cubans in uniform "over-the-fence" to stage attack on base.
3.Capture Cuban (friendly) saboteurs inside the base.
4.Start riots near the base main gate (friendly Cubans).[13]
5.Blow up ammunition inside the base; start fires.
6.Burn aircraft on air base (sabotage).
7.Lob mortar shells from outside of base into base. Some damage to installations.
8.Capture assault teams approaching from the sea or vicinity of Guantanamo City.
9.Capture militia group which storms the base.
10.Sabotage ship in harbour; large fires—napthalene.
11.Sink ship near harbour entrance. Conduct funerals for mock-victims (may be in lieu of (10)).

b. United States would respond by executing offensive operations to secure water and power supplies, destroying artillery and mortar emplacements which threaten the base.

c. Commence large scale United States military operations.

3.A "Remember the Maine" incident could be arranged in several forms:

a. We could blow up a US ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba.
b. We could blow up a drone (unmanned) vessel anywhere in the Cuban waters. We could arrange to cause such incident in the vicinity of Havana or Santiago as a spectacular result of Cuban attack from the air or sea, or both. The presence of Cuban planes or ships merely investigating the intent of the vessel could be fairly compelling evidence that the ship was taken under attack. The nearness to Havana or Santiago would add credibility especially to those people that might have heard the blast or have seen the fire. The US could follow up with an air/sea rescue operation covered by US fighters to "evacuate" remaining members of the non-existent crew. Casualty lists in US newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation.

4.We could develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington.[14]
The terror campaign could be pointed at refugees seeking haven in the United States. We could sink a boatload of Cubans en route to Florida (real or simulated). We could foster attempts on lives of Cuban refugees in the United States even to the extent of wounding in instances to be widely publicised. Exploding a few plastic bombs in carefully chosen spots, the arrest of Cuban agents and the release of prepared documents substantiating Cuban involvement, also would be helpful in projecting the idea of an irresponsible government.

5.A "Cuban-based, Castro-supported" filibuster could be simulated against a neighbouring Caribbean nation (in the vein of the 14th of June invasion of the Dominican Republic). We know that Castro is backing subversive efforts clandestinely against Haiti, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Nicaragua at present and possible others. These efforts can be magnified and additional ones contrived for exposure. For example, advantage can be taken of the sensitivity of the Dominican Air Force to intrusions within their national air space. "Cuban" B-26 or C-46 type aircraft could make cane-burning raids at night. Soviet Bloc incendiaries could be found. This could be coupled with "Cuban" messages to the Communist underground in the Dominican Republic and "Cuban" shipments of arm which would be found, or intercepted, on the beach.

6.Use of MIG type aircraft by US pilots could provide additional provocation. Harassment of civil air, attacks on surface shipping and destruction of US military drone aircraft by MIG type planes would be useful as complementary actions. An F-86 properly painted would convince air passengers that they saw a Cuban MIG, especially if the pilot of the transport were to announce such fact. The primary drawback to this suggestion appears to be the security risk inherent in obtaining or modifying an aircraft. However, reasonable copies of the MIG could be produced from US resources in about three months.[15]

7.Hijacking attempts against civil air and surface craft should appear to continue as harassing measures condoned by the government of Cuba. Concurrently, genuine defections of Cuban civil and military air and surface craft should be encouraged.

8.It is possible to create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked and shot down a chartered civil airliner en route from the United States to Jamaica, Guatemala, Panama or Venezuela. The destination would be chosen only to cause the flight plan route to cross Cuba. The passengers could be a group of college students off on a holiday or any grouping of persons with a common interest to support chartering a non-scheduled flight.

a. An aircraft at Eglin AFB would be painted and numbered as an exact duplicate for a civil registered aircraft belonging to a CIA proprietary organization in the Miami area. At a designated time the duplicate would be substituted for the actual civil aircraft and would be loaded with the selected passengers, all boarded under carefully prepared aliases. The actual registered aircraft would be converted to a drone.
b. Take off times of the drone aircraft and the actual aircraft will be scheduled to allow a rendezvous south of Florida. From the rendezvous point the passenger-carrying aircraft will descend to minimum altitude and go directly into an auxiliary field at Eglin AFB where arrangements will have been made to evacuate the passengers and return the aircraft to its original status. The drone aircraft meanwhile will continue to fly the filed flight plan. When over Cuba the drone will begin transmitting on the international distress frequency a "MAY DAY" message stating he is under attack by Cuban MIG aircraft. The transmission will be interrupted by destruction of the aircraft which will be triggered by radio signal. This will allow ICAO radio[16] stations in the Western Hemisphere to tell the US what has happened to the aircraft instead of the US trying to "sell" the incident.

9.It is possible to create an incident which will make it appear that Communist Cuban MIGs have destroyed a USAF aircraft over international waters in an unprovoked attack.
a. Approximately 4 or 5 F-101 aircraft will be dispatched in trail from Homestead AFB, Florida, to the vicinity of Cuba. Their mission will be to reverse course and simulate fakir aircraft for an air defense exercise in southern Florida. These aircraft would conduct variations of these flights at frequent Intervals. Crews would be briefed to remain at least 12 miles off the Cuban coast; however, they would be required to carry live ammunition in the event that hostile actions were taken by the Cuban MIGs.
b. On one such flight, a pre-briefed pilot would fly tail-end Charley at considerable interval between aircraft. While near the Cuban Island this pilot would broadcast that he had been jumped by MIGs and was going down. No other calls would be made. The pilot would then fly directly west at extremely low altitude and land at a secure base, an Eglin auxiliary. The aircraft would be met by the proper people, quickly stored and given a new tail number. The pilot who had performed the mission under an alias, would resume his proper identity and return to his normal place of business. The pilot and aircraft would then have disappeared.
c. At precisely the same time that the aircraft was presumably shot down, a submarine or small surface craft would disburse F-101 parts, parachute, etc., at approximately 15 to 20 miles off the Cuban coast and depart. The pilots returning to Homestead would have a true story as far as they knew. Search ships and aircraft could be dispatched and parts of aircraft found.[17]

So if they were prepared to do it then has the CIA mellowed so much that hey would not consider it again ?

"the Chances Of Anything Coming From Mars Are A Million To One"

..but still they come.

The above is a quoted from the lyrics of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds however it should be noted that the original quote from HG Wells is :

"The chances against anything manlike on Mars are a million to one," he said.

Well today i finally got hold of a piece of mars..yesy a REAL PIECE OF MARS !!

But if no one has ever been to mars and no samples have been collected and bought back then how can I have a piece of Mars ? Well as you know Mars has been hit by many impactors and many of these have been on a biblical scale, see my thread " Be Afraid..Be very Afraid" http://www.black-and...be-very-afraid/

Now when some of the large impacts occurred martian rock was blasted out into space and some, after many millions of years, have landed on earth as martian meteorites ( Shergottites) I think to date there are under a hundred know Martian meteorites http://www.lpi.usra....rec=50&srt=name

Mine is a 1 cm slice from meteorite Dar al Gani 1037 which was found in 1999 in Libya, The numerous impact shock veins, Melt veins + melt pockets suggest that this specific rock material was from the exact zone on Mars that was hit by the asteroid that caused the material to leave Mars!

Ten stones totalling 4012.43 g were found early 1999 in the sand desert of Dar al Gani. The biggest individual was a complete individual of 3090 g with perfect orientation and rather fresh appearance. Classification and mineralogy (A. Greshake and M. Kurz): an olivine-phyric shergottite with porphyritic texture; large chemically zoned olivine megacrysts are set into a fine-grained groundmass composed of pyroxene and maskelynite; minor phases include chromite, Ti-rich chromite, sulfides, phosphates, and small Fe-rich olivines; olivine megacrysts often contain melt inclusions and small chromites; pyroxenes are dominantly chemically zoned pigeonites, some contain orthopyroxene cores; olivine phenocrysts, Fa31.4-41.1, Fe/Mn = 52-59; matrix olivine, Fa37.4-40.6, Fe/Mn = 52-58; pigeonite, Fs23.7-35.4Wo6-18.6; orthopyroxene, Fs20.2-24.5Wo2.5-4.7, Fe/Mn = 34; maskelynite, An58.9-65.5; heavily shocked with numerous melt veins and melt pockets; moderately weathered with calcites filling cracks and cavities. Oxygen isotopes (R. Clayton and T. Mayeda, UChi): δ17O = +2.91, δ18O = +5.29, Δ17O = +0.16. Possibly paired with Dar al Gani 467, 489, 670, 735, 876, and 975.
3 X 5 = 15 Says Ibm

IBM's Test-Tube Quantum Computer Makes History; First Demonstration Of Shor's Historic Factoring Algorithm
SAN JOSE, Calif., -- Scientists at IBM's Almaden Research Center have performed the world's most complicated quantum-computer calculation to date. They caused a billion billion custom-designed molecules in a test tube to become a seven-qubit quantum computer that solved a simple version of the mathematical problem at the heart of many of today's data-security cryptographic systems.
"This result reinforces the growing realization that quantum computers may someday be able to solve problems that are so complex that even the most powerful supercomputers working for millions of years can't calculate the answers," said Nabil Amer, manager and strategist of IBM Research's physics of information group.
In today's issue of the scientific journal Nature, a team of IBM scientists and Stanford University graduate students report the first demonstration of "Shor's Algorithm" -- a method developed in 1994 by AT&T scientist Peter Shor for using the futuristic quantum computer to find a number's factors -- numbers that are multiplied together to give the original number. Today, factoring a large number is so difficult for conventional computers -- yet so simple to verify --that it is used by many cryptographic methods to protect data.
A quantum computer gets its power by taking advantage of certain quantum properties of atoms or nuclei that allow them to work together as quantum bits, or "qubits," which serve simultaneously as the computer's processor and memory . By directing the interactions between qubits while keeping them isolated from the external environment, scientists enable a quantum computer to perform certain calculations, such as factoring, exponentially faster than conventional computers. When factoring large numbers using a conventional computer, each added digit roughly doubles the time to find the factors. In contrast, the quantum factoring time increases by only a constant increment with each additional digit.
The simplest meaningful instance of Shor's Algorithm is finding the factors of the number 15, which requires a seven-qubit quantum computer. IBM chemists designed and made a new molecule that has seven nuclear spins -- the nuclei of five fluorine and two carbon atoms -- which can interact with each other as qubits, be programmed by radio frequency pulses and be detected by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) instruments similar to those commonly used in hospitals and chemistry labs.
The IBM scientists controlled a vial of a billion billion (10**18) of these molecules so they executed Shor's algorithm and correctly identified 3 and 5 as the factors of 15. "Although the answer may appear to be trivial, the unprecedented control required over the seven spins during the calculation made this the most complex quantum computation performed to date," Amer said.
"Now we have the challenge of turning quantum computation into an engineering reality," said Isaac Chuang, leader of the research team and now an associate professor at MIT. "If we could perform this calculation at much larger scales -- say the thousands of qubits required to factor very large numbers --fundamental changes would be needed in cryptography implementations."
While the potential for quantum computing is huge and recent progress is encouraging, commercial quantum computers are still many years away. NMR-based quantum computers are laboratory experiments. The first quantum computing applications would likely to be co-processors for specific functions, such as solving difficult mathematical problems, modeling quantum systems and performing unstructured searches. Word processing or simple problem-solving tasks are more easily handled by today's computers.
IBM's demonstration of Shor's algorithm also shows the value of quantum computing experiments using NMR, an approach pioneered independently in the mid-1990s by Chuang and Neil Gershenfeld of MIT and by David Cory and colleagues, also at MIT. "Our NMR experiments stimulated us to develop fundamental tools that can be used in many future types of quantum computers," said Chuang. "Most important of these was a way to simulate and predict the signal degradation caused by 'decoherence' -- unintended quantum fluctuations. This tool enabled us to minimize decoherence errors in our 7-qubit experiment."
While NMR will continue to provide a testbed for developing quantum computing tools and techniques, it will be very difficult to develop and synthesize molecules with many more than seven qubits. As a result, new experiments at IBM and elsewhere are aimed at developing new quantum computing systems that can more easily "scale" to the large numbers of qubits needed for practical applications. Strong candidates today include electron spins confined in semiconductor nanostructures (often called quantum dots), nuclear spins associated with single-atom impurities in a semiconductor, and electronic or magnetic flux through supercoductors. Atomic and optical implementations continue to be evaluated.
Co-authors of the Nature report with Chuang are Gregory Breyta, Mark Sherwood and Costantino Yannoni of IBM-Almaden and Stanford University graduate students Lieven M.K. Vandersypen and Matthias Steffen.
Quantum Computing History:
When quantum computers were first proposed in the 1970s and 1980s (by theorists such as the late Richard Feynmann of California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif.; Paul Benioff of Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois; David Deutsch of Oxford U. in England., and Charles Bennett of IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), many scientists doubted that they could ever be made practical. But in 1994, Peter Shor of AT&T Research described a specific quantum algorithm for factoring large numbers exponentially faster than conventional computers -- fast enough to defeat the security of many public-key cryptosystems. The potential of Shor's algorithm stimulated many scientists to work toward realizing the quantum computers' potential. Significant progress has been made in recent years by numerous research groups around the world.
While at IBM, Chuang extended his reputation as one of the world's leading quantum computing experimentalist. He led the team that demonstrated the world's first 2-qubit quantum computer (in 1998 at University of California Berkeley). At IBM-Almaden, Chuang and colleagues were first to demonstrate important quantum computing algorithms -- Grover's database-search algorithm in 1999 with a 3-qubit quantum computer and order finding last year (August 2000) with a 5-qubit quantum computer. The factorization using Shor's algorithm announced today is the most complex algorithm yet to be demonstrated by a quantum computer.
In addition to its ambitious experimental program, IBM Research is also noted for its many theoretical contributions to the emerging field of quantum information. IBM scientists pioneered quantum cryptography, quantum communications (including the concept of quantum teleportation) and efficient methods of error correction. David DiVincenzo, research staff member at IBM's Watson lab, has promulgated the five criteria necessary for a practical quantum computer: 1) a scalable physical system with well-characterized qubits; 2) the ability to initialize the qubit state; decoherence times much longer than the quantum gate operation time; 4) a universal set of quantum gates; and 5) the ability to measure specific qubits.

Tell That To The Kids Of Today..

.. and they won't believe you !!

With upgrade cost being what they are it is difficult to budget for 3D work when it is really only done as a hobby it difficult do justify splashing out on new "gadgets" for the home. We had been using a 1.4 Ghz laptop around the house but it was ..well..cr*ap and rather than buy a new system i decided to Frankenstein a PC from old parts and put it in the kitchen for general use. The thing is it was not so long ago that this would have been my main PC !! Dual core AMD with 4 GB RAM..no slouch

Whilst rummaging around I cam across an old LP dated 1970 ( LP for the uninitiated is a 12 inch Vinyl recording to be played on a "record player"- hmm happy days..jumpers for goal posts....)

Thing is this "LP" still had it's 1970 price sticker on it ...19'11. OK hold tight this may get tricky and it will be difficult to type as tears well up in my eyes.

Pre decimal ( 1971) we had real money in the UK ( and probably in NZ and AUS). We still have the pound and pence but old pence were different. 12 pence ( 12d) made 1 shiiling (1s) and 20 shillings (20s) made one pound (1£), hence the old trippy £sd. We Also had farthings = 1/4 penny, halfpenny, threepence = err..3 pennies, sixpence = 6d, two shillings AKA florin, 1/2 a crown = 2shiilings and sixpence. Crown 5 shillings and a guinea at £1 1 shilling.

Coins fascinated me as a kid in the 60's and i soon became a "coin collector" legal tender went back at least to Victorian times and probably earlier. It was very common to find Victorian and Edwardian pennies in your change.

Now getting back to the LP at 19'11, that is 19 shillings and 11 pennies. id short of a pound. A bloody pound ( AKA quid) for an LP in 1970, lets put that into perspective, the average UK house price in 1970 was around £5000 and yet here i was with an LP costing £1. Could you imagine swapping 5000 modern CD's for a house ???

Aspartame Warning

Quote

Independent analyses of these studies [by Searle, manufacturer of aspartame] ... proves conclusively that aspartame is actually a dangerous, neurotoxic, carcinogenic and highly-addictive drug. ... Rumsfeld was hired as Searle CEO on March 8, 1977 and immediately ... fired many of its high-level managers, replacing them with other politically-connected Washington, D.C., insiders. ... There was [however] no doubt, based upon objective analyses of evidence that had accumulated for over a decade, that aspartame was deathly poisonous to lab animals and caused a statistically significant number of them to develop tumors. ... Ronald Reagan was sworn in as president January 21, 1981. Rumsfeld, while still CEO at Searle, was part of Reagan's transition team. This team hand-picked Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes, Jr., to be the new FDA commissioner. ... Hayes, left his post at the FDA in November, 1983, amid accusations that he was accepting corporate gifts for political favors. Just before leaving office in scandal, Hayes approved the use of aspartame in beverages. ... Within weeks ... cans of diet sodas and other sweet drinks were on the market ... and [aspartame] is now in an estimated 7,000 to 9,000 commonly-consumed products in at least 100 countries. When Searle was absorbed by Monsanto in 1985, Rumsfeld reportedly received a $12 million bonus. ... Not surprisingly, the same adverse reactions seen in lab animals in the 60s and 70s are now being seen in the general population. ... Rumsfeld became the CEO of Searle to secure political approval for a product that science had proven to be a highly-addictive neurotoxic drug that causes chronic ill health, brain tumors and death.

From laboratory testing of the chemical on rats, researchers have discovered that the drug induces brain tumors. On Sept 30, l980 the Board of Inquiry of the FDA concurred and denied the petition for approval. In l981, the newly appointed FDA Commissioner, Arthur Hull Hayes, ignored the negative ruling and approved aspartame for dry goods. As recorded in the Congressional Record of 1985, then CEO of Searle Laboratories Donald Rumsfeld said that he would call in his markers to get aspartame approved

Avian Flu.. A bit of a Flap

It is good to know that the avian flu pandemic did not materialise, interesting to know that many millions ( hmm.. make that billions) of dollars and pounds made there way to the vaccine suppliers who made Tamiflu. Of course it is a mere coincidence that Donald Rumsfeld used to head the company that makes Tamiflu and held bast amounts of it's stocks..or is it ?

•Dr. Joseph Mercola: Who Owns the Rights on Tamiflu: Rumsfeld To Profit From Bird Flu Hoax

Not long ago, President Bush sought to instill panic in this country by telling us a minimum of 200,000 people will die from the avian flu pandemic, but it could be as bad as 2 million deaths in this country alone.
This hoax is then used to justify the immediate purchase of 80 million doses of Tamiflu, a worthless drug that in no way shape or form treats the avian flu, but only decreases the amount of days one is sick and can actually contribute to the virus having more lethal mutations.

So the U.S. placed an order for 20 million doses of this worthless drug at a price of $100 per dose. That comes to a staggering $2 billion.

http://www.globalres...&articleId=1148

In October 2005 the Pentagon ordered vaccination of all US military personnel worldwide against what it called Avian Flu, H5N1. Scare stories filled world media. Then, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced he had budgeted more than $1 billion to stockpile the vaccine, Oseltamivir sold under the name, Tamiflu. President Bush called on Congress to appropriate another $2 billion for Tamiflu stocks.

What Rumsfeld neglected to report at the time was a colossal conflict of interest. Prior to coming to Washington in January 2001, Rumsfeld had been chairman of a California pharmaceutical company, Gilead Sciences. Gilead Sciences held exclusive world patent rights to Tamiflu, a drug it had developed and whose world marketing rights were sold to the Swiss pharma giant, Roche. Rumsfeld was reportedly the largest stock holder in Gilead which got 10% of every Tamiflu dose Roche sold. When it leaked out, the Pentagon issued a curt statement to the effect that Secretary Rumsfeld had decided not to sell but to retain his stock in Gilead, claiming that to sell would have indicated something to hide.' That agonizing decision won him reported added millions as the Gilead share price soared more than 700% in weeks. Tamiflu is no mild candy to be taken lightly. It has heavy side effects. It contains matter that could have potentially deadly consequences for a person's breathing and often reportedly leads to nausea, dizziness and other flu-like symptoms.

Quote

A "pandemic response bill" currently making its way through the Massachusetts state legislature would allow authorities to forcefully quarantine citizens in the event of a health emergency, compel health providers to vaccinate citizens, authorize forceful entry into private dwellings and destruction of citizen property and impose fines on citizens for noncompliance.
If citizens refuse to comply with isolation or quarantine orders in the event of a health emergency, they may be imprisoned for up to 30 days and fined $1,000 per day that the violation continues.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=15017

Quote

Those who resist such vaccines will be arrested and taken away for "isolation" in domestic prison camps. They can't just leave vaccine refusers free to live among the population, of course, because that would send the message that anyone can refuse the vaccines without consequence. So they'll arrest those who refuse the vaccine, labeling them "a threat to national security" (enemies of the state) and imprison them without trial, without charges and without any legal representation whatsoever.

Can God Make A Rock So Heavy That He Can't Move It ?

As I hope you are aware at this moment (29 Aug 2010) there are 33 miners trapped in a mine in Chile, but fear not the Pope is on the case

Quote

The Pope says he is praying for the Chilean miners trapped underground and has urged them to remain calm as efforts continue to free them.

Pope Benedict assured the 33 men and their families that he was spiritually close to them and was praying for a "happy conclusion" to their ordeal.

The head of the Roman Catholic church was speaking to pilgrims gathered for his traditional Sunday blessing, delivered at the papal summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, south of Rome

http://news.sky.com/...415708721?f=rss

What we have here is a lose/lose situation for the pope

1. If his prayers are answered then what sort of god is it that puts the miners and their families through such torture ?
2. If his prayers are not answered then either god does not exist, or he does not listen to the pope
3. Why does the pope pray for a "happy conclusion" why not pray for the rock to be torn asunder and the men to be lifted out by singing angels, a stroll in the park for his god ?
4. If the outcome is poor the perhaps he is praying to the wrong god
6. Perhaps god does not intervene in the fates of men, in which case it must have been a different god we read about in the old testament
7. If god does not intervene then why pray, in fact why give the miners false hope ?
8. god may intervene and save the miners due to prayer but has been happy to let millions of others perish and ignore their prayers
9. It is all Bull, hence the term Papal Bull

Am i to be dammed for suggesting that the Pope may not be infallible ? For those who think so i would remind them of the events surrounding the "Cadaver Synod" in 897 AD when the then infallible Pope Stephen ordered the exhumation of the former infallible pope Formosus. His body was removed from his tomb, placed on a throne, accused of a variety of crimes and found guilty. The body of the infallible "holy father" was then stripped of it's vestments, had three fingers cut of and reburied in a graveyard intended for foreigners. Some time later the body was dug up again and thrown into the river Tiber. It must be said, however, that it was believed that this body when washed up on the shores of the Tiber began to perform miracles.

Public outrage led to the imprisonment and later strangulation of the infallible Pope Stephen. Later the infallible Pope Theodore II annulled the results of the Cadaver synod and reburied, the somewhat" tatty" corpse in St Peters Basilica with full papal vestments, However the madness continued and later the infallible pope Sergius III overturned these rulings and had the results of the Cadaver Synod reinstated

What a bunch of raving loonies !!

Woody's Thoughts On Ufo's

The UFOMenaceUFOS ARE BACK in the news, and it is high time we took a serious look at this phenomenon. (Actually, the time is ten past eight, so not only are we a few minutes late but I'm hungry.) Up until now, the entire subject of flying saucers has been mostly associated with kooks or oddballs. Frequently, in fact, observers will admit to being a member of both groups. Still, persistent sightings by responsible individuals have caused the Air Force and the scien-tific community to reexamine a once skeptical attitude, and the sum of two hundred dollars has now been allocated for a comprehensive study of the phenomenon. The question is: Is anything out there? And if so, do they have ray guns? All UFOs may not prove to be of extraterrestrial origin, but experts do agree that any glowing cigar-shaped aircraft capable of rising straight up at twelve thousand miles per second would require the kind of maintenance and sparkplugs available only on Pluto. If these objects are indeed from another planet, then the civilization that designed them must be millions of years more advanced than our own. Either that or they are very lucky. Professor Leon Speciman postulates a civilization in outer space that is more advanced than ours by approximately fifteen minutes. This, he feels, gives them a great advantage over us, since they needn't rush to get to appoint-ments.Dr. Brackish Menzies, who works at the Mount Wilson Observatory, or else is under observation at the Mount Wilson Mental Hospital (the letter is not clear), claims that travellers moving at close to the speed of light would require many millions of years to get here, even from the nearest solar system, and, judging from the shows on Broadway, the trip would hardly be worth it. (It is impossible to travel faster than light, and certainly not desirable, as one's hat keeps blowing off.)Interestingly, according to modern astronomers, space is finite. This is a very comforting thought—particularly for people who can never remember where they have left things. The key factor in thinking about the universe, however, is that it is expanding and will one day break apart and disappear. That is why if the girl in the office down the hall has some good points but perhaps not all the qualities you require it's best to compromise. The most frequently asked question about the UFOs is: If saucers come from outer space, why have their pilots not attempted to make contact with us, instead of hovering mysteriously over deserted areas? My own theory is that for creatures from another solar system "hovering" may be a socially acceptable mode of relating. It may, indeed, be pleasurable. I myself once hovered over an eighteen-year-old actress for six months and had the best time of my life. It should also be recalled that when we talk of "life" on other planets we are frequently referring to amino acids, which are never very gregarious, even at parties. Most people tend to think of UFOs as a modern problem, but could they be a phenomenon that man has been aware of for centuries? (To us a century seems quite long, particularly if you are holding an I.O.U., but by astrono-mical standards it is over in a second. For that reason, it is always best to carry a toothbrush and be ready to leave on a moment's notice.) Scholars now tell us that the sighting of unidentified flying objects dates as far back as Biblical times. For instance, there is a passage in the Book of Leviticus that reads, "And a great and silver ball appeared over the Assyrian Armies, and in all of Babylonia there was wailing and gnashing of teeth, till the Prophets bade the multitudes get a grip on themselves and shape up."Was this phenomenon related to one described years later by Parmenides: "Three orange objects did appear suddenly in the heavens and did circle midtown Athens, hovering over the baths and causing several of our wisest philosophers to grab for towels"? And, again, were those "orange objects" similar to what is described in a recently discovered twelfth-century Saxon-church manuscript: "A lauch lauched he; wer richt laith to weet a cork-heild schonne; whilst a red balle lang owre swam aboone. I thank you, ladies and gentlemen"?This last account was taken by medieval clergy to signify that the world was coming to an end, and there was great disappointment when Monday came and everyone had to go back to work. Finally, and most convincingly, in 1822 Goethe himself notes a strange celestial phenomenon. "En route home from the Leipzig Anxiety Festival," he wrote, "I was crossing a meadow, when I chanced to look up and saw several fiery red balls suddenly appear in the southern sky. They descended at a great rate of speed and began chasing me. I screamed that I was a genius and consequently could not run very fast, but my words were wasted. I became enraged and shouted imprecations at them, whereupon they flew away frightened. I related this story to Beethoven, not realizing he had already gone deaf, and he smiled and nodded and said, 'Right.'"As a general rule, careful on-the-scene investigations disclose that most "unidentified" flying objects are quite ordinary phenomena, such as weather balloons, meteorites, satellites, and even once a man named Lewis Mandel-baum, who blew off the roof of the World Trade Center. A typical "explained" incident is the one reported by Sir Chester Ramsbottom, on June 5, 1961, in Shropshire: "I was driving along the road at 2 A.M. and saw a cigar-shaped object that seemed to be tracking my car. No matter which way I drove, it stayed with me, turning sharply at right angles. It was a fierce, glowing red, and in spite of twisting and turning the car at high speed I could not lose it. I became alarmed and began sweating. I let out a shriek of terror and apparently fainted, but awoke in a hospital, miraculously unharmed." Upon investigation, experts determined that the "cigar-shaped object" was Sir Chester's nose. Naturally, all his evasive actions could not lose it, since it was attached to his face.Another explained incident began in late April of 1972, with a report from Major General Curtis Memling, of Andrews Air Force Base: "I was walking across a field one night and suddenly I saw a large silver disc in the sky. It flew over me, not fifty feet above my head, and repeatedly described aerodynamic patterns impossible for any normal aircraft. Suddenly it accelerated and shot away at terrific speed."Investigators became suspicious when they noticed that General Memling could not describe this incident without giggling. He later admitted he had just come from a showing of the film "War of the Worlds," at the post movie theatre, and "got a very big kick out of it." Ironically, General Memling reported another UFO sighting in 1976, but it was soon discovered that he, too, had become fixated on Sir Chester Ramsbottom's nose—an occurrence that caused consternation in the Air Force and eventually led to General Memling's court-martial.If most UFO sightings can be satisfactorily explained, what of those few which cannot? Following are some of the most mystifying examples of "unsolved" encounters, the first reported by a Boston man in May, 1969: "I was walking by the beach with my wife. She's not a very attractive woman. Rather overweight. In fact, I was pulling her on a dolly at the time. Suddenly I looked up and saw a huge white saucer that seemed to be descending at great speed. I guess I panicked, because I dropped the rope on my wife's dolly and began running. The saucer passed directly over my head and I heard an eerie, metallic voice say, 'Call your service.' When I got home, I phoned my answering service and received a message that my brother Ralph had moved and to forward all his mail to Neptune. I never saw him again. My wife suffered a severe breakdown over the incident and now cannot con-verse without using a hand puppet."From I. M. Axelbank, of Athens, Georgia, February, 1971: "I am an experienced pilot and was flying my private Cessna from New Mexico to Amarillo, Texas, to bomb some people whose religious persuasion I do not wholly agree with, when I noticed an object flying alongside me. At first I thought it was another plane, until it emitted a green beam of light, forcing my plane to drop eleven thousand feet in four seconds and causing my toupee to snap off my head and tear a two-foot hole in the roof. I repeatedly called for help on my radio, but for some reason could only get the old 'Mr. Anthony' program. The UFO came very close to my plane again and then shot away at blinding speed. By this time I had lost my bearings and was forced to make an emergency landing on the turnpike. I continued the trip in the plane on the ground and only got into trouble when I tried to run a toll booth and broke off my wings."One of the eeriest accounts occurred in August, 1975, to a man on Montauk Point, in Long Island: "I was in bed at my beach house, but could not sleep because of some fried chicken in the icebox that I felt entitled to. I waited till my wife dropped off, and tiptoed into the kitchen. I remember looking at the clock. It was precisely four-fifteen. I'm quite certain of this, because our kitchen clock has not worked in twenty-one years and is always at that time. I also noticed that our dog, Judas, was acting funny. He was standing up on his hind legs and singing, 'I Enjoy Being a Girl.' Suddenly the room turned bright orange. At first, I thought my wife had caught me eating between meals and set fire to the house. Then I looked out the window, where to my amazement I saw a gigantic cigar-shaped aircraft hovering just over the treetops in the yard and emitting an orange glow. I stood transfixed for what must have been several hours, though our clock still read four-fifteen, so it was difficult to tell. Finally, a large, mechanical claw extended from the aircraft and snatched the two pieces of chicken from my hand and quickly retreated. The machine then rose and, accelerating at great speed, vanished into the sky. When I reported the incident to the Air Force, they told me that what I had seen was a flock of birds. When I protested, Colonel Quincy Bascomb personally promised that the Air Force would return the two pieces of chicken. To this day, I have only received one piece."Finally, an account in January, 1977, by two Louisiana factory workers: "Roy and I was cat-fishing in the bog. I enjoy the bog, as does Roy. We was not drinking, although we had brought with us a gallon of methyl chloride, which we both favor with either a twist of lemon or a small onion. Anyways, at about midnight we looked up and saw a bright-yellow sphere descend into the bog. At first Roy mistook it for a whooping crane and took a shot at it, but I said, 'Roy, that ain't no crane, 'cause it's got no beak.' That's how you can tell a crane. Roy's son Gus has a beak, you know, and thinks he's a crane. Anyways, all of a sudden this door slides open and several creatures emerge. These creatures looked like little portable radios with teeth and short hair. They also had legs, although where the toes usually are they had wheels. The creatures motioned to me to come forward, which I did, and they injected me with a fluid that caused me to smile and act like Bopeep. They spoke with one another in a strange tongue, which sounded like when you back your car over a fat person. They took me aboard the aircraft and gave me what seemed to be a complete physical examination. I went along with it, as I had not had a checkup in two years. By now they had mastered my own language, but they still made simple mistakes like using 'hermeneutics,' when they meant 'heuristic.' They told me they were from another galaxy and were here to tell the earth that we must learn to live in peace or they will return with special weapons and laminate every first-born male. They said they would get the results of my blood test back in a couple of days and if I didn't hear from them I could go ahead and marry Clair."

An Eternal Universe ?

Model describes universe with no big bang, no beginning, and no end
(PhysOrg.com) -- By suggesting that mass, time, and length can be converted into one another as the universe evolves, Wun-Yi Shu has proposed a new class of cosmological models that may fit observations of the universe better than the current big bang model. What this means specifically is that the new models might explain the increasing acceleration of the universe without relying on a cosmological constant such as dark energy, as well as solve or eliminate other cosmological dilemmas such as the flatness problem and the horizon problem.

Shu, an associate professor at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, explains in a study posted at arXiv.org that the new models emerge from a new perspective of some of the most basic entities: time, space, mass, and length. In his proposal, time and space can be converted into one another, with a varying speed of light as the conversion factor. Mass and length are also interchangeable, with the conversion factor depending on both a varying gravitational “constant” and a varying speed of light (G/c2). Basically, as the universe expands, time is converted into space, and mass is converted into length. As the universe contracts, the opposite occurs.

“We view the speed of light as simply a conversion factor between time and space in spacetime,” Shu writes. “It is simply one of the properties of the spacetime geometry. Since the universe is expanding, we speculate that the conversion factor somehow varies in accordance with the evolution of the universe, hence the speed of light varies with cosmic time.”
The Pyramid Texts were funerary inscriptions that were written on the walls of the early Ancient Egyptian pyramids at Sakkara. These date back to the fifth and sixth dynasties, approximately the years 2350-2175 B.C.E. However, because of extensive internal evidence, it is believed that they were composed much earlier, circa 3000 B.C.E. The Pyramid Texts are, therefore, essentially the oldest sacred texts known.
Not too in depth as most settings have been covered in earlier tutorials on turbulence 4d for cinema 4d. I cover keying settings for the explosion, adjusting timing and using 2 different containers for a single final effect
This is a quick overview of the latest beta features soon to be released to everyone, however i have forgotton to mention the new standard particle feature where you can use standard particles as turbulence 4d emitters without having to use particle geometry. For TP particles you still need geometry

EDIT this build is now dated as I am testing a new verdion which allows for thr preview to updtae with changes in camera position and also has velocity dampening (drag) in the simulation

After a breathless race through the '80s and '90s, desktop computer clock speeds have spent the last decade languishing around the 3 gigahertz mark. That stagnation in processing speeds has prompted scientists to debate whether it's time to move beyond semiconductors -- and what better place to debate than in the journal Science? Ars Technica gives a top-down overview of several future paths laid out in the journal's latest issue by researchers such as Thomas Theis and Paul Solomon of IBM.

The main issue comes from voltages being forced to scale down as ever-tinier transistors are developed. That can lead to heat and power use problems, as well as slower switching and clock speeds. Chips have typically compensated by favoring size and power over speed, but scientists suggest several possible new approaches.
