Nothing really accurate here just a test to see if the gross effect would work. I think i can work it from here and add a better scene setting and some more FX

Here is an update, actually a bit of a disaster as i fiddled with too many settings and got the smoke-to-mosquito cloud issue, it is also too fast and too square at the top but at least for a short while you can see that the pyroclastc look has improved somewhat

Back to the drawing board !!

OK for this test i tried a different technique. I simulated using a low res, and then set up a new container and an emitter. The partcles position and velocity were driven by the data from the first container sim and they then emitted into the second container at high res

OK its naff !! but i like some of the effect though some particles are a bit manic the pyro cauliflower effect they produce is good

I think it would be a case of perhaps using TP instead of the stanfard emitter i used and then maybe have partcle spawning. But it has been an interesting test !!

OK new test with a new build, don't worry about the scene i just put the BG image in for some.. well.. BG and the container is small so the sim clips but the idea is to get the heavy pyro look which i think is close

40MV 105 frames simmed in 15 mins

This new test may be overkill but i wanted to push T4D to my systems limit with 12 GB RAM, i managed 75 MV and simmed 170 frames in about 2.5 hours

Now the resolution may well be overkill and the look is not ideal but at least i know i can get results with these high resolutions in a reasonable time. And of course the scene is vary basic, for a real SFX shot we would have far better scenery, lighting, camera effects and post effects and a lot more time and resources !!

Here is the last test ( i have to do something more interesting !!) lower res faster to sim 200 frames in about 2 hours, no particles but multiper emitters as you can see at the beggining
