Hi all, I have recently upgraded my iMac to run OSX 10.6 so my gamma setting in my colour correction is now 2.2 (previously 1.8). I've just noticed that in the GI settings I can adjust the gamma there as well (and in the main render options box), should I change it?. I think the default setting was 1. All these changes seem to over complicate things. Is this something that only cinema 4d does or are all £D applications the same?

Cheers,

Paul.

Best to set your monitor gamma settings to 2.2 in C4D. Using 2.2 gamma in GI is a quickw ay to get linear wokflow as you don't have to adjust anything else. if you were to do LWF using a 2.2 gamma color correction post filter you would then have to filter all your maps and colors with 0.454 gamma as well as adjust all the lights. There i a commercial plugin for this called degamma
